Ski resorts in Europe set to reopen for summer

There is light at the end of the tunnel for diehard skiers and snowboarders as ski resorts in Europe set to reopen their slopes this summer.

Zermatt, the resort famous as the home of the iconic Matterhorn mountain has reopened its restaurants and shops and says its cable cars will resume operations for summer activities from June 8. However, strict conditions with protection concepts apply.

Most hotels and holiday apartments are also opening their doors for the summer season. Activities such as hiking, biking, mountain climbing, golf, summer skiing and many more will be possible this summer in the Zermatt – Matterhorn destination.

The Swiss resort in the shadow of the one of the world’s most famous mountains, the Matterhorn, said “most” of its hotels and holiday apartments are opening for the summer. The village’s tourist board said hiking, climbing and golf will be available to visitors.
