MARii and CIRROSNET launch UNiLINK, first Intelligent Portal to enhance internship placements

The Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), in partnership with Cirrosnet Sdn. Bhd. (CIRROSNET) has launched UNiLINK, the first online platform and Intelligent Jobs Portal for university students seeking internship and employment within the technology sector.

The launching ceremony, held in MARii Headquarters was attended by Madani Sahari, Chief Executive Officer of MARii, Roslan Ramli, Executive Chairman of CIRROSNET, and Professor (ADJ) Dr. Mohd Azman Zainul Abidin, Managing Director, Business Innovation & Technology Commercialization Centre (BITCOM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).

UNiLINK functions on a data-driven algorithm, serving as a digital one-stop centre for university students, job seekers, and undergraduates to secure internship placements in diversified sectors including mobility, Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality (AR/VR), and robotics.

“Internships and first jobs set the tone for an individual’s entire career, it shapes their worldview on work and is the first stepping-stone in recognising their strengths and talents. UNiLINK will optimise the opportunity for fresh talents to match their skills to the right career paths, ensuring the needs and demands of industry to accurately attract Industry 4.0-compliant talents.”, said Madani.

Madani further explained that UNiLINK is a platform that allows the administration, monitoring and publishing of industry requirements to be done collaboratively with academia and industry players.

The UNiLINK algorithm is designed to improve internship opportunities based on the interests, qualifications, and past work experiences – using Big Data Analytics (BDA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning.

“We have been primary involved in the business of provisioning of IT services and system development. We believe our collaboration with MARii will result in a successful development of the UNiLINK digital platform, a conduit of communication and co-ordination between university students and the industries which focuses on the matching of manpower requirement between academia and industry.”, said Roslan.

UNiLINK will comprise a comprehensive, ever-growing network of local and international companies – providing ample internship placements and career placement opportunities, for university students to secure placements that are in line with their interests, ability, and expectations to provide the best learning curve for these fresh talents.
