ZTE commits to empowering digital transformation in Asia Pacific

ZTE Corporation, a telecommunications and information technology solutions company, has opted to invest in the Asia Pacific region. This is to become a market leader in providing 5G-centric connectivity, compute, and platform to facilitate the digital transformation of thousands of industries.

“ZTE has always shown its commitment to empowering the digital and intelligent transformation of thousands of industries by building ultimate networks, precision cloud networks, and empowerment platforms,” shared Bai Yang, Vice President of ZTE Corporation, leader of Global Marketing & Solution Department in Pan-Asia Pacific region.  

He described Asia Pacific as young and dynamic with a huge digital potential given that 5G is gathering pace across the region. ZTE Malaysia is working closely with its 5G partners in Malaysia, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi), and U Mobile Sdn Bhd (U Mobile) to accelerate their 5G deployment goals in Malaysia. 

Recently, Digi announced its partnership with ZTE Corporation for its nationwide Radio Access Network (RAN) modernisation which will deliver an improved experience to its customers while ensuring that its network is ready for 5G.

Two months ago, U Mobile launched its Fast Forward with U Mobile 5G, a live trial at Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur. The event enabled U Mobile prepaid and postpaid customers with SIMs ready for 5G (pre-activated) to fast forward into the future and get a taste of 5G. 

In addition to working with local telcos, ZTE (Malaysia) Corporation Sdn Bhd has been hosting its Leading 5G Tour, an annual event in Malaysia since 2014. 

Held on July 8, key highlights of this year’s event, themed Into the New Norm, included showcasing ZTE’s leading-edge end-to-end solutions for telecommunications and its cutting edge core network innovations and robotic demonstrations using multi-access edge computing.
