Facebook supports small business owners this holiday season with tools to enable socially-distanced shopping

Facebook has come out to help small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) to continue reaching their customers through new tools and resources.

Facebook’s Season of Support aims to help small businesses get holiday-ready with free marketing training, tools, and more. The initiative is driven by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Businesses can get the help and support they need during the busiest time of the year with access to customised resources that can assist them in reaching their goals.

Local businesses can maximise Facebook’s platforms and tools such as WhatsApp Business App and Instagram Shop to help them get discovered and effectively engage with potential customers.

The WhatsApp Business App is built with small business owners in mind. The app offers special features such as Catalogs and Carts allowing businesses to easily engage with customers and make buying and selling even easier.

Catalogs have allowed people to quickly see what’s available and help businesses organise chats around particular items. Carts support this feature and allows users to quickly add goods or services they want and then send the order as one message to the business.

The Instagram Shop is an in-app shopping destination where people can discover products and local businesses from across Instagram. The Shop tab enhances the shopping experience for potential customers and provides businesses more ways to highlight buyable items.

Some of the homegrown businesses that have been using these platforms and resources include Jadi Batek, Musees, and MuslimahClothing.com.
