Malaysian based EcoWorld under its International development, has completed its second property in Melbourne’s inner-city zone by successfully delivering a $250 million Yarra One apartments to its customer.
Despite a turbulent 2020 with multiple shutdowns in Australia, the developer managed to complete the building which stands above South Yarra. The green, 26 storey tower encompasses 247 one, two and three-bedroom luxury apartments, as well as, three penthouses and a wide range of innovative amenities throughout. Having marked the building’s completion in mid-December, with settlement currently underway, EcoWorld International Australia CEO Mr Yap Foo Leong, said after what has been a challenging year, it’s an exciting time for the company with a wondrous end to a challenging time for many.
The property is designed by world-renowned architecture firm, Fender Katsalidis, and brought to life by the distinguished team at Hickory, the tower offers an intangible and classic quality. Reflected through the Yarra One design language, its form sees pure geometry, circular, elliptical and rectilinear patterns combine to create a new building that is both bold, yet welcoming for residents.
“Our design is focused on the context of South Yarra and, together with EcoWorld’s vision, contributes to the Forrest Hill precinct by providing a new space for the community to connect, celebrate and unwind. said Fender Katsalidis Director, Nicky Drobis.“ Positioned in the centre of the building which will see significant pedestrian traffic between South Yarra train station and Chapel Street, the atrium at Yarra One is a project highlight, designed to be used by the community both within the residential tower and those in the surrounding South Yarra locale. Renowned for its network of laneways, bustling with cafés, galleries, specialty shops and eclectic boutiques, the Melbourne CBD pedestrian pathways – the lifeblood of the city’s built environment – were the inspiration for the space.
As a green a building, the Yarra One offers a green car-sharing service, the developer announced in 2018 that residents of the four-star green building would have access to a brand new electric Tesla as part of a Victorian first, sustainable car-sharing model in a multi-residential setting. Purchasers also have the option to include a charging point within their designated car space to ensure they or future residents are fully equipped to welcome an electric car now or in the future. Other amenities include a wellness precinct, equipped with a gymnasium, outdoor spa, dance studio and yoga room.
This is a second project for EcoWorld International in Australia after recently completing its first project Down Under, with West Village in Parramatta.
