Sarawak State And Alibaba Cloud Embark On SME Digitalisation Programs

Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad a company wholly-owned by the Sarawak Government announced the collaboration with Alibaba Cloud to digitalise Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the state.

SDEC will leverage the public cloud service from Alibaba Cloud give options for SMEs that are currently using the existing cloud platform SDeCloud to choose solutions and products provided by the new solution provider.

The cloud service provider will also also help the state agency in terms of enhancing their impact and the reach of the corporation’s larger initiatives – to fast track the digitalisation programmes in Sarawak.

“SDEC’s vision is to accelerate economic prosperity through digitalisation. As a state link company, we need to synergize our efforts with all stakeholders towards accelerating the adoption of digitalisation amongst local SME’s. So it’s pivotal for us to select the right cloud service partner”. said Sudarnoto Osman, Chief Executive Officer of SDEC.

This collaboration comes at an opportune time as Malaysia works towards the national Digital Economy Blueprint to make Malaysia a high-value-added economy and a net exporter of home-grown technologies and digital solutions by the end of this decade added Jordy Cao, General Manager of Malaysia, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.
