MOF: Micro SME’s Can Register For GKP 4.0, Payment In September And November

Ministry of Finance has announced the dates for the registration of the Prihatin Special Grant 4.0 GKP) under the PEMULIH aid package. Those who have previously registered under GKP 3.0 will not have to resubmit, however for new applicants they can do so from July 15 with the deadline closing on 31 July.

The fourth iteration of the special allocation is aimed at assisting micro enterprises and micro SMEs who have been hard hit by the EMCO and the ongoing pandemic warfare. GKP 4.0 will have an allocation of RM 1 billion with RM500 to be distributed in September and RM500 in November 2021 for eligible recipients. A total of 1million businesses have already received the grants since Covid-19 hit our shores, with the Government handing out more than RM6.1 billion thus far.

Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul points out that those who were rejected in the previous GKP can reapply online as the new system gives the allowance for another round of verification. He also adds that those eligible will have to be categorised as micro SME and have valid registration documents with SSM, local council or the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).

Besides the grants, the government over the period has also extended various initiative to assist businesses including the recent blanket moratorium extension, soft loan funds from Bank Simpanan Nasional, MARA SME Corp, TEKUN and YaPeim.
