Singapore based N&E Innovations founded by Didi Gan have big plans to expand its product line to include medical equipment and supplies such as bedsheets, drinking bottles in a post-pandemic scenario.

For the company, business is all about sustainability and environmentally-friendly options, says Didi Gan.

“We also intend to collaborate with other partners and organisations to incorporate our antimicrobial compounds into a range of devices and existing products,” she says in an email interview with Business Today.

Established in 2020, N&E Innovations was founded with the intention to provide users with a safer alternative range of products that can be used by people of all ages.

The startup identified the importance of sustainability and the harsh effects of chemicals as major pain points to eventually engineer its innovative molecular coating technology, Vi Kang 99.

In the middle of this year, the medtech startup launched its latest C2+ range of organic disinfectants in Malaysia earlier in June. This follows the Malaysian launch of their antiviral Vi-MASK face masks in March this year.

Since banking on sanitisers and masks is a risky business in a post-pandemic world, the company says, “Post-pandemic, we foresee that it will be a trend for consumers to want products that come with an additional layer of protection, in particular items that they need to use frequently or come into contact with regularly (face masks, clothes, luggage).

“For such products to be coated with an antimicrobial layer, the application cost is minimal and does not affect the bottom line of businesses, making it a viable option for companies to look into.”

To pursue the expansion plans, Didi Gan says the company intends to start fundraising at the end of this year.

“We have recently secured the patent for our proprietary technology Vi Kang 99,” probably meaning this will be the launchpad for fundraising.

“There is a growing awareness and shift in attitude towards sustainability and environmentally-friendly options today.

“In light of this, N&E Innovations continues to be committed to research and development of food waste, leveraging cutting-edge technology to create innovative, natural and sustainable solutions that will safeguard the health and well being of future generations in the years to come,” says Didi Gan.
