Going digital is no longer a fancy proposition, businesses can no longer take the wait and see attitude and get on the bandwagon if they want to keep up with the competition and give their customers the right proposition. While the pandemic has been a wake up call for many, there are communities who are still struggling with the concept and understanding.
To encourage these groups and assist them in getting on the ecommerce wave, JOCOM an MCommerce platfrom specialising in groceries is working together with MDEC by offering incentives worth RM2,550 for onboarding vendors.
According to COO Sharon Goh, the Go-eCommerce programme is to get more micro, small and medium enterprises on ecommere platforms where they can offer their groceries and household products online to consumers. The programme does not require any of the vendors to pay and will allow them to introduce their products on the get go. As for the RM2,500 incentives, these include various value-added services such as product listing, design, marketing and advertising of the vendor’s products on the JOCOM platform as well as customer service, warehousing, packing, and delivery across Malaysia for the first year. “The vendor only needs to deliver the products to our Kuala Lumpur warehouse, and JOCOM will take care of the rest,” said Goh.
Subsequently, the warehouse can store items in up to three different temperatures – room, chilled and frozen. JOCOM runs its own in-house logistics fleet that is able to deliver products to Klang Valley customers and does outsource deliveries if they are beyond for room-temperature products.
The Go-eCommerce programme is offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. Interested parties would need to sign a vendor onboarding contract and submit all the relevant documents before year end.
