Festive Season Attractions In Singapore

As Vaccinated Travel lane between Malaysia and Singapore has finally kicked-off today (Nov 29) for both air and land travel, it’s time to plan a festive season holiday.

A gentle reminder that adults are eligible for entry but for unvaccinated children must be accompanied with at least one vaccinated adult, and need to register for the quarantine-free travel.

Also, each traveller must also comply to all the terms and conditions set by both countries under the VTL agreement. For more detailed information please visit Malaysian Immigration Department website (shorturl.at/dpLQY), or to the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoint Authority website (https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/STO1/VTL).

Here are some of the attractions in Singapore not to be missed during this Festive Season.

Christmas Wonderland

Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay is back, and as usual, it’s pulling out all the stops with stunning light displays, carnival games, Christmas shopping and a Garden Rhapsody light and sound show. After going hybrid in 2020, Christmas Wonderland is back as a fully physical event – all the better for visitors to immerse in that festive cheer.

From December 3 to January 2, head down to the Gardens to bask in the glow of eight magical light displays. Highlights include the seven-storey high Spalliera, handmade in Italy to look like the circular rose windows found in Gothic churches; the romantic 44-metre Walk of Stars; and the magnificent Enchanted Bridge which is lit up with 100,000 LED lights. Over at the Supertree Grove, we’ve also got Supertree lights dancing in tune to your favourite Christmas jingles.

If you’re looking for more fun, then join the traditional carnival games and win prizes at Fishy Fishy, Darts, Blockbuster, Bowling and more. Or watch the world whizz by on the Venetian Double-Storey Carousel – a staple at carnivals and a must-ride for families with children. More activities and photo opportunities abound at Christmas Wonderland, including a meet-and-greet with Father Christmas himself and a free Sustainable Dough Making Workshop for kids.

Visit Christmas Markets at Capitol Singapore

For Christmas this year, Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES have organized a slew of events for you to have some family festive fun. For starters, try out hands-on craft workshops including punch needling, knitting, embroidery and soap-making, or attend dessert-making classes hosted by The Capitol Kempinski Hotel chefs.

Live carolling Capitol Kempinski Singing Tree will also be returning this year, sung in partnership with Voices of Singapore (VOS) and other carolling groups. Santa will also be making an appearance this year, in style of course. Look out for Sidecar Santa, and take Instagram-worthy photos with your loved ones. Did we also mention that there will also be a Christmas market, a skating rink, and heritage tour rides to take you on?

Christmas At Universal Studio Singapore

Start the year-end holidays by heading over to A Universal Christmas at Sentosa, where you and your friends are in for a jolly good time. Meet Otto from Illumination’s Minions 2: The Rise of Gru or follow the Universal Rockin’ Railway and spot the festive Christmas trees along the way! While you’re there, meet and greet with other characters and party with Puss in Boots at the Milk Bar.

Pinkmas At Museum Of Ice Cream Singapore

What’s better than a white winter wonderland? A full-blown pink one! Aptly called Pinkmas, the Museum of Ice Cream Singapore is hosting its first-ever Christmas event filled with pink Christmas trees and other joyful activities for you to experience with your friends and family. Tantalise your inner foodie with delicious sweet holiday treats too.

Experience our Singapore-inspired “Dragon Playground”, a pink and yellow Banana Jungle, and the largest MOIC Sprinkle Pool ever created!

Your sweetest dreams will be brought to life, and you’ll create lasting memories over the magic of ice cream.

Candlelight: Holiday Special Ft. “The Nutcracker” & More

Immerse yourself in this award-winning Candlelight Concert this Christmas, taking place on December 22 and 23. Watch and enjoy the talented string quartet performing wintertime classics from Tchaikovsky and other holiday pieces such as O Holy Night and Deck the Halls. Wonder at the stunning architecture of the iconic Victoria Concert Hall while you relish a beautiful evening of music and dance.

Christmas On A Great Street

Get into the spirit of Christmas this year with the dazzling annual light-up along Orchard Road. This year, the theme is Christmas in Bloom, representing the resilience of businesses along our famous shopping stretch and the hope for better things to come in the new year.

On November 13, 3.1 kilometres of roads from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura will come alive with lights, arches, and a medley of blooms. As you approach the junction of Orchard Road and Scotts Road, you’ll be greeted by the 12-metre-tall main arch, adorned with red, white and gold poinsettias and accompanying Christmas tree décor. Another welcome arch sits on Tanglin Road, adorned with red and rose gold poinsettias to welcome celebration and mirth. Meanwhile, Tanglin, Orchard and Somerset will be bathed in the warm glow of spangled lamp posts and grand LED decorations.
