Borzo Provides Cost Benefits For Business Delivery

Borzo's Country Manager Lingesh Thayala

Borzo (formerly MrSpeedy) has developed tech solutions that aim to alter the entire logistics landscape by providing business delivery solutions with cost benefits over competitors.

According to Borzo’s Country Manager Lingesh Thayala, “We developed our tech solutions to shift the entire logistics landscape to make same-day delivery prices the same as prices charged by traditional logistics companies today.

“This strategy is based on the nature of the market being price elastic. That is why many new online businesses are choosing us as their preferred delivery partner to help grow their business.

“The market has already been disrupted by allowing businesses the ability to deliver their products on demand. That is how you truly disrupt and innovate and it is what Borzo is looking to achieve,” he says.

Borzo is a global delivery service that enables intracity same-day delivery, formerly known as MrSpeedy Malaysia.

Creating Job Support

Borzo’s goal is to be a platform that can enable an individual to earn the much-needed income in the midst of the worldwide epidemic.

“Through our platform, we are able to support more than 100,000 individuals during the pandemic. We aim for Borzo to be a platform on which one can earn an income.

“Since we started in 2018, the challenge for most businesses going online is figuring out how to get their products to their customers’ doorsteps. We are proud that with our delivery solution, we have provided trust and reliability to our clients giving businesses the confidence to invest and build this new income stream together with us as partners.

“Businesses who use our service will enjoy a more seamless booking process as we will be integrating with many existing systems providers which are already used by our clients,” he explains.

Support Local Economy

In the light of government initiatives such as Pakej and MobilePreneur, BusinessToday asked Lingesh what needs to be done to further support the local economy.

“Malaysia should be commended for its efforts in supporting the gig economy as very few countries are committed to supporting this space.

“These initiatives have supported the gig workers and the results are visible on our platform.

“It would be ideal if the income derived from the gig economy is recognised as a formal source of income to access financial services.

“This will create more confidence for individuals in pursuing the gig economy as a longer-term income stream and provide work flexibility.

For the future of the logistics industry, e-commerces platforms should aim for same-day delivery at lower prices.

“Where I believe it will get exciting is to see e-commerce platforms provide same-day delivery at scale. The reason why it is not done today is because of the high price point and consumers prefer waiting a few days instead.

“Once same-day services are offered at lower prices, this will create a paradigm shift for the entire delivery/logistics industry. ,” he says.

He also said to date, Borzo has over 9 years of experience, 3 million orders created, and 2 million customers.
