Taliworks Lands RM294 Million Water Treatment Plant Contract From Air Selangor

Taliworks has been selected by Pengurusan Air Selangor for the proposed development of Sg. Rasau water treatment plant and water supply scheme (Phase 1), Selangor Darul Ehsan Package 3 – Design and Build of Proposed New Bukit Lipat Kajang Booster Station, Reservoirs at a contract sum of RM294 million.

The company which has expertise in water management and treatment will be designing and building the proposed new Bukit Lipat Kajang booster station, reservoirs, and associated works including civil, structural, and building works, pumping plant mechanical works, electrical works, instrumentation, controls, and automation (ICA) works and building services at the site.

Selangor has been facing constant water problems due to various reasons including lack of catchment areas, old water treatment plants, the State is eyeing this new project that could stem these issues in the future.

The formation of Taliworks was a result of its parent company LGB Group, being one of the pioneers in the privatisation of potable water treatment and supply services in Malaysia undertook a reverse takeover exercise by injecting 100% equity interest in Sungai Harmoni Sdn. Bhd. and Taliworks (Langkawi) and a 45% equity interest in C.G.E Utilities (M) Sdn. Bhd. into Carpets International Malaysia Berhad, which was then listed on the Second Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.

Today the group has diverse business segments including water treatment and supply, highway toll concession, engineering and waste management.
