Sunway To Host Radiation Physics Symposium

For the second time in Southeast Asia, the 15th International Symposium on Radiation Physics (ISRP15) will be held at Sunway University, Malaysia, to gather the best researchers and academia in radiation physics and applications from 44 countries for interaction, discussion of the latest research as well as sustainable development in the field. 

Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin says, “ISRP15 is a great platform and opportunity for Malaysia to discover new technologies and innovation which seeks to improve the process, technologies and economic sector for societal and national welfare of our community. 

“The benefits of hosting ISRP not only encourage knowledge and creative hub, as well as raising the potential of trade and investment in the related technology sector.”

“The ISRP series has been hosted in Malaysia for the second time speaks volumes of our presence in the international state. Following the pandemic, it has changed greatly how we know about daily life but at the same time it has allowed the application of science and technologies creatively and innovatively,” he says.

The ISRP is a premier international conference in radiation physics and for a period of some 40 years has been held triennially in different locations around the world, including within the last 20 years in Argentina, China, Brazil, Australia, Portugal, South Africa, and the Czech Republic.

ISRP15 is organised by the Research Centre for Applied Physics and Radiation Technologies (CAPRT) at Sunway University in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Universiti Putra Malaysia. 

It is also supported by Pan-Malaysian Universities, Malaysia Nuclear Agency, the Malaysian Association of Medical Physics (MAMP), and in particular the International Radiation Physics Society (IRPS).

The previous ISRP held in Malaysia was in 1982 at the University of Science Malaysia, Penang.
