Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Appoints Peter Hong As Group CEO

Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH) today announced the appointment of Peter Hong as its Group Chief Executive Officer effective 1 January 2022.


Mr Hong has been the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) since September 2021. He joined Sime Darby Berhad’s Healthcare Division in January 2019.


Together with joint venture partner Ramsay Health Care, Mr Hong has been pivotal in overseeing the RSDH Group’s progress during the pandemic to drive business growth and operational excellence.


With 28 years of experience in the healthcare industry in Southeast Asia, Mr Hong has worked for several large multinational companies in the pharmaceutical and medical sectors.


Before joining Sime Darby, he was Group Operations Director at Siloam Hospitals Group and, previously, Finance and Operations Head at Fresenius Medical Care.


A Chartered Accountant, Mr. Hong holds a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting) from Monash University and is a Fellow of CPA Australia and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.


The RSDH Board commended Mr Hong’s business acumen and steady leadership.


“Peter is a seasoned executive, with a multicultural and multinational background,” RSDH Chair Martyn Roberts said.


“He is well-acquainted with our operations and has demonstrated his ability to balance strategic operational decision-making and financial discipline.
