Zurich Malaysia today contributed 17 units of medical equipment to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) UKM to enhance the hospital’s ability to provide better medical care.

A total of RM281,525 was sourced from Zurich Malaysia’s fundraising among employees, agents, intermediaries and partners, and matched by the Z Zurich Foundation. The fundraiser was conducted during Zurich Community Week 2021 from 13 September to 1 October 2021. Whilst RM8,443 was contributed from Zurich Malaysia’s general takaful business – Zurich General Takaful Malaysia Berhad surplus pool. This is part of the company’s process to contribute its Tabarru’ Fund excess on behalf of their customers to philanthropic or life-saving causes.

The medical equipment was procured according to the hospital’s specifications. These equipment will supplement the hospital’s current capacity to treat patients in the Accident & Emergency Department, Clinics & Wards as well as in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Radiology Department.

The contribution consists of:

• Six hydraulic patient transport trolleys/beds with a fifth wheel technology steering system

• Five manual patient transport trolleys

• Five air purifiers with numerous infection control applications for healthcare and commercial facilities. It can be used as a portable system for movement from room to room on its stable, easy-to-move caster cart. If necessary, it can be removed from its cart for operation as a fixed device

• One high end multi-purpose diagnostic ultrasound system
