FTSE BM KLCI Shed 5.20 or -0.34% to 1,521.86

Kuala Lumpur, Jan 24 – Malaysian shares inched down on Monday, which is line with the performance of most bourses in Asia. To recap, the Dow Jones down by 1.20% while the Nasdaq index slid 2.72% last Friday.

** Bursa Malaysia ended lower on Monday, the FTSE BM KLCI  down 5.20 or -0.34% to 1,521.86.

** The FTSE BM KLCI opened at 1,521.72. The index fluctuated between 1,518.82 – 1,525.82 .

** 335 counters are gainers, 385 counters are unchanged, while 595 counters are losers.

** Total volume of 2,833,436,700 shares changed hands; while Turnover of RM1,882,996,317.

** The Top 5 Gainers : MPI (39.50, +1.48) ; NESTLE (133.00, +0.80) ; PMBTECH- (13.20, +0.70) ; PMBTECH (13.30, +0.70); PMBTECH-WA (10.16, +0.68)

** The Top 5 Losers : FANG-2XL (12.72, -1.30) ; RAPID (8.75, -0.25) ; HARTA (5.53, -0.22) ; HIS-H86 (0.525, -0.205) ; BATU KAWAN (22.80, -0.20)

** The Top 5 Most Active Stocks : DNEX (0.93, -0.055) ; CORAZA (0.815, +0.155) ; EASTLND-OR (0.005, UNCHANGED) ; SMTRACK (0.195, +0.005); TWL (0.055, -0.01)

** Most bourses of key regional markets were ended in red.

** Singapore’s Straits Times Index (STI) down by 11.35 or -0.35% to 3,283.51 ; Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index shed 309.09 points or -1.24% at 24,656.46;  Japan’s Nikkei 225 up 66.11 or 0.24% at 27,588.37, and Korea’s KOSPI ended lower 42.29 points or -1.49% to 2,792.00;  Shanghai’s SSE Composite Index rose slightly by 1.54 points or +0.04% to 3,524.11.
