FTSE BM KLCI Dipped 12.95 Points or -0.85% at 1,508.91

Kuala Lumpur, Jan 25 –Bursa Malaysia ended lower on Tuesday as the selling pressure on index-weighted stocks  continued to put downward pressure on the benchmark index. All major regional markets were ended in red today despite a positive close on the Wall Street last night, albeit slight increase. To recap, the Dow Jones skidded almost 1,000 points yesterday but climbed back to positive territory just 1 hour before the market closed.

** Bursa Malaysia ended lower on Tuesday, the FTSE BM KLCI down 12.95 or 0.85% at 1,508.91 .

** The FTSE BM KLCI opened at 1,517.09. The index fluctuated between 1,503.34 – 1,517.09.

** 215 counters are gainers,  348 counters are unchanged, while  803 counters are losers.

** Total volume of 2,808,991,900 recorded; while Turnover of RM2,147,229,387.

** The Top 5 Gainers : F&N (25.42, + 0.42) ; PETDAG (19.38, +0.26) ; HIS-HA3 (0.945, +0.195) ; HIS-HM1 (0.90, +0.16) ; DJIA-H1 (0.70, +0.135)

** The Top 5 Losers : NESTLE (132.30, -0.70) ; FANG-2XL (12.10, -0.62) ; MPI (39.12, -0.38) ; KESM (10.20, -0.34) ; DUTCHLADY (32.02, -0.32)

** The Top 5 Most Active Stocks : DNEX (0.86, -0.07) ; SENHENG (0.855, -0.215) ; CORAZA (0.810, -0.005) ; SMTRACK (0.19, -0.005) ; HIS-C12 (0.155, -0.05)

** Singapore’s Straits Times Index (STI) down by 43.38 or -1.32% to 3,239.97 ; Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index down 412.86 points or -1.67% at 24,243.61;  Japan’s Nikkei 225 shed 457.03 or -1.66% at 27,131.34, and Korea’s KOSPI reduced 71.61 points or -2.56% to 2,720.39;  Shanghai’s SSE Composite Index down 91.04 points or -2.58% to 3,433.06.
