FTSE BM KLCI Dropped As Investors on Risk-Off Mood

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 4  –Bursa Malaysia FTSE BM KLCI dropped 2.97 points or 0.19% at 1,522.76 on Friday as investors were taking a risk- averse approach towards the equity markets in line with the overnight heavy sell-off at Wall Street. Wall Street plunged after Facebook-led tech sell-off; Nasdaq down 4%. While major Asian markets ended in the positive territory today.

** The FTSE BM KLCI opened at 1,526.30. The index fluctuated between 1,518.82 – 1,526.80.

** 553 counters are gainers,  397 counters are unchanged, while 324 counters are losers.

** Total volume of 2,433,648,200 shares changed hands; while Turnover of RM1,649,393,196.

** The Top 5 Gainers : FANG-2XL (13.22, +1.98); DINO040000223 (101.70; +1.51) ; PMBTECH-WA (12.40, +0.60) ; DLADY (32.58, +0.28); KLK (21.72, +0.24)

** The Top 5 Losers : HSI-HA3 (0.80, -0.28) ; RAPID (8.45, -0.28); HSI-HM1 (0.755, -0.275); HSI-HMT (0.32, -0.21); KSENG (3.51, -0.18)

** The Top 5 Most Active Stocks : DNEX (1.01, +0.03) ; SMTRACK (0.175, +0.01); HIBISCS (1.09, +0.09) ; NCT (0.54, UNCHANGED) ; HEXIND (0.30, +0.03)

** Singapore’s Straits Times Index (STI) inched slightly up 14.74 or  +0.44% to 3,330.73 ; Hong Kong’s HSI ended bullishly higher 771.03 or 3.24% at 24,573.29;  Japan’s Nikkei 225 advanced 198.68 or +0.98% at 27,439.99; and Korea’s KOSPI rose 42.44 points or 1.57% to 2,750.26;  Shanghai Stock Exchange is closed today for Chinese New Year holidays.
