FTSE BM KLCI Moved Higher in Bargain-Hunting

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 10  –Bursa Malaysia inched up on Thursday with higher volume recorded in what believed to be bargain-hunting. All major regional stock markets ended higher. This is in line with the overnight performance of the US stocks. While strategist warns that Feb could be “more hawkish than they have indicated.”

** Bursa Malaysia inched up positively on Thursday, the FTSE BM KLCI up 18.59 points  or  1.20% at 1,570.10 .

** The FTSE BM KLCI opened at 1,550.42. The index fluctuated between 1,550.42 – 1,568.78.

** 567 counters are gainers,  425 counters are unchanged, while 399 counters are losers.

** Total volume of 3,196,616,600 shares changed hands; while Turnover of RM 2,621,320,174 .

** The Top 5 Gainers : SAM (24.48,+0.98) ; FANG-2XL (13.22,+0.90) ; PMBTECH-LA (18.50, +0.80) ; BKAWAN (24.18, +0.76) ; PMBTECH (18.60,+0.74)

** The Top 5 Losers : COMPLET (4.04, -0.21) ; F&N (23.94, -0.20) ; OMH (2.91, -0.19) ; BOXPAK-WA (0.005, -0.155) ; PMETAL-C65 (0.105, -0.145).

** The Top 5 Most Active Stocks : DNEX-CG (0.06,+0.005); DNEX (1.07, +0.05); AT (0.03, +0.005); SMTRACK (0.19, +0.005) ; MMAG (0.08, UNCHANGED)

** Singapore’s Straits Times Index (STI) up slightly 7.96 or  +0.23% to 3,428.00 ; Hong Kong’s HSI Index rose 94.36 points or +0.38% at 24,924.35;  Japan’s Nikkei 225 advanced 116.21 or +0.42% at 27,696.08; and Korea’s KOSPI up 3.08 points or +0.11% to 2,771.93;  Shanghai Stock Exchange moved higher by 5.96 points or 0.17% at 3,485.91.
