FTSE BM KLCI Buoyed by Positive Sentiment

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 11  –Bursa Malaysia ended higher on Friday rode on investors’ positive sentiment. While most regional stock markets ended in negative territory as the investors were staying on the sideline or profit-taking. The overnight US stocks plunged following red-hot inflation recorded, and Feb policymaker’s hawkish remarks.

** Bursa Malaysia ended lower on Friday, the FTSE BM KLCI up 8.79 or  0.56% at 1,578.89 .

** The FTSE BM KLCI opened at 1,564.30. The index fluctuated between 1,562.91 – 1,578.83.

** 509 counters are gainers,  408 counters are unchanged, while 446 counters are losers.

** Total volume of 3,191,296,900  shared changed hands; while Turnover of RM2,416,255,420.

** The Top 5 Gainers : KLK (24.14, +1.40) ; BKAWAN (24.88, +0.70) ; PMBTECH-WA (16.12, +0.62) ; BJFOOD (3.00, +0.60) ; PMBTECH-LA (19.00, +0.50)

** The Top 5 Losers : SAM (23.50, -0.98); MPI (39.00,-0.58) ; BAT (12.50, -0.36) ; SP500-C10 (0.635, -0.22); SP500-CZ (1.20, -0.22)

** The Top 5 Most Active Stocks : KNM (0.185,+0.03) ; VC (0.075, -0.005); DNEX (1.09, +0.02); SMTRACK (0.195, +0.02) ; DNEX-CG (0.07, +0.01)

** Singapore’s Straits Times Index (STI) down 6.24 points or  -0.18% to 3,421.76 ; Hong Kong’s HSI Index declined marginally by 17.69 points or -0.071% at 24,906.66;  Japan’s stock market is closed today; and Korea’s KOSPI down 24.22 points or -0.87% to 2,747.71;  Shanghai Stock Exchange declined 22.96 points or -0.66% at 3,462.95.
