Exports of Rubber Products to be Doubled by 2023

Malaysia’s overall exports of rubber and rubber products is expected to double, or at about RM140 billion by 2023. In 2021, the overall exports of rubber contributed RM71 billion to the nation’s coffer.

Datuk Hajah Zuraida Kamaruddin today launch the International Rubber Industry Convention and Expo 2022 (IRICE 2022) In Petaling Jaya and commented on the exports of rubber and rubber products to the press.

“Our primary aim to ensure that the Malaysian made rubber products are renowned across the world,” said Datuk Hajah Zuraida.

Organised by Malaysian Rubber Products Manufacturers Association (MRPMA) and co-hosted by Malaysia Rubber Council (MRC), IRICE 2022 is a platform for the rubber industry players to connect and network, to facilitate knowledge sharing and in turn boost productivity and revenue.

IRICE 2022 aims to define the opportunities and address the challenges faced by Malaysian rubber industry players, which include precured treads, engineered rubber products in construction, railway, mining and marine, latex foam and mattresses, rubber medical devices, rubber automotive components and green rubber. It also aims to promote the dry and technical rubber exhibition in Malaysia.

“Our vision is to make IRICE the leading exhibition for the rubber industry in ASEAN,” said Mr. Yeaw Kok Kwey, President of MRPMA.

This biennial event, IRICE 2022, is held in conjunction with the Tenth International Glove Conference and Exhibition 2022 (IRGCE 2022) and RubberCon2022. All these three events will be scheduled to be on 6 till 8 September at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
