FTSE BM KLCI Tracked Regional Rebound

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 25  –Bursa Malaysia rebounded on Friday supported by plantation and banking stocks. While major stock markets in Asia rebounded back from previous day’s rout on Friday tracking the overnight Wall Street rebound amidst geopolitical crisis, although sentiment was still cautious.

** Bursa Malaysia ended higher on Friday , the FTSE BM KLCI rose 17.83 points  or  1.13% at 1,591.72.

** The FTSE BM KLCI opened at 1,579.07. The index fluctuated between 1,579.07 – 1,600.49.

** 700 counters are gainers,  367 counters are unchanged, while 318 counters are losers.

** Total volume of 3,248,431,600 shares changed hands ; while Turnover of RM2,926,670,549 .

** The Top 5 Gainers : NESTLE (135.10, +1.10) ; MPI (36.00, +0.90); FANG-2XL (10.80, +0.64) ; SAM (21.60, +0.54) ; SOP (5.90, +0.53)

** The Top 5 Losers : ANNJOO (0.70, -0.23) ; PANAMY (28.30, -0.22) ; SP500-HZ (1.33, -0.21) ; CANONE (3.09, -0.20) ; HENGYUAN (4.36, -0.20)

** The Top 5 Most Active Stocks : SMTRACK (0.235, +0.02); DNEX (1.15, +0.01); AT (0.02, UNCHANGED) ; VIZIONE (0.06, -0.005) ; TAWIN (0.155, +0.01)

** Singapore’s Straits Times Index (STI) up 23.37 or  +0.71% to 3,299.43 ; Hong Kong’s HSI Index declined 134.38 points or -0.59% at 22,767.18;  Japan’s Nikkei 225 advanced 505.68 points or +1.95% at 26,476.50; and Korea’s KOSPI rose  27.96 points or +1.06% to 2,676.76;  Shanghai Stock Exchange rose 21.45 points or 0.63% at 3,451.41 ; Australia’s All Ordinaries up 20.50 points or 0.28% at 7,273.60
