Google Using Tech To Help Ukraine

Google is throwing its support towards Ukraine, the search giant is using its service to monitor DDoS attempts against Ukraine sites, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as services like Liveuamap designed to help people find information.

IT had also expanded eligibility of ts Project Shield a free protection against DDoS attacks, so that Ukrainian government websites, embassies worldwide, and other governments in close proximity to the conflict can stay online, protect themselves and continue to offer their crucial services.

In assisting refugees, Google is increasing its support to $25 million total, committing an additional $10 million to help organisations deliver both immediate humanitarian aid and longer-term assistance for refugees in Poland.

As for air raid warnings, an app created by Ukrainian developers to help vital organizations involved in providing humanitarian assistance such as medical supplies, food relief, and refugee support and aid, Google is extending free services through Google Cloud credits to eligible organizations.

It says it will also waive international calling fees from Ukraine and from the U.S. to Ukraine on Google Fi, and waive calling fees to Ukraine for people using Google Voice for the time being.
