Iris Corp Recieves RM167.6 Million Contract Add-On From National Identification Authority of Tanzania

Iris Corporation which had earlier in April 2011 signed a contract with the National Identification Authority (NIDA) of the United Republic of Tanzania is pleased to announce that the company has received an addendum to the original contract.

NIDA has signed for add-ons with both parties agreeing to complete delivery of the revised deliverables under the principal contract. Iris has stated that the addendum is for a duration of 18 months from the date of signing and with the additional provision, the total price for the revised deliverables is now at (USD 39,698,711.50) (Approximately RM167,607,959.95 as translated based on Bank Negara Malaysia’s exchange rate as at 29 March 2022 of USD 1: MYR 4.222).

In 2011, Iris Corporation announced that it had secured US$149.96 million (RM451.61 million) to deliver 25 million smart cards to be used as ID by the Tanzania Government. The contract period was for 5 years with 36 months of implementation and 24 months of maintenance.
