Bursa Slipped on Cautious Mood While HSI Rallied Boosted by Tech Stocks

Kuala Lumpur, April 4 –Bursa Malaysia inched lower on Monday when the KLCI whipsawed around 1,600 point level with investors tiptoeing with cautious mood as the optimism over the reopening subsided gradually. On the major Asian equities markets, all ended in positive territory on Monday caused by rally in Hong Kong. HSI Index leaped by 2% today spurred by regulatory removal of key hurdle that impeded full U.S. access to audits. However, it is expected that the Asian equities markets shall remain in coming days amid talk of yet more sanctions against Russia. Treasuries continues to sound the risk of hard landing, with the prospect of sharp interest-rate hikes to fight inflation by Fed is high.
