Regional Competition In The Snack Industry, Winners Could Be Working On OREO Brand

Mondelēz International has recently announced the recruitment for its Taste The Future Business Challenge, a virtual business competition that welcomes participation from all undergraduate and postgraduate students in South-East Asia, including Malaysia. The competition will run from April to July 2022, with the aim of nurturing design thinking skills among participants by asking how they would respond to the future challenges of the snacking industry.

As Charlene Phang, People Lead, Malaysia & Singapore explains, Mondelēz International is always adapting to the evolving consumer trends and needs, especially as consumers continue to raise the expectations from their favorite brands such as OREO, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Chipsmore and Twisties. “People will always love to snack but as our lifestyle changes over the years, the definition of what a snack is has evolved and snacking has begun to take on new meaning. The competition encourages participants to apply design thinking process to anticipate consumer’s expectations, snacking trends and propose solutions for the snacking industry in a creative and innovative way,”

Through the Mondelēz International’s Taste The Future Business Challenge virtual competition, teams of three to four members will have the opportunity to hone their design thinking skills through an experiential learning lab and mentorship sessions, apply it in action through the creative problem-solving challenge, and present prototypes to real-life business challenges. The 2022 challenge seeks to answer the question; “How might Mondelēz International lead the future of snacking in Southeast Asia?”.

The competition has two local stages, with elimination at each stage and successful teams will be invited to present their prototypes in a Country-level Showdown. Country Champions will represent their respective countries in the Southeast Asia Showdown with Mondelēz International Southeast Asia Leadership Team. “In addition to receiving an exclusive plaque, cash, and amazing gadgets, winning teams will also have the opportunity to be fast-tracked into Mondelēz International’s Management Trainee and Internship programs,” said Charlene.

Interested students can find out more and register before April 13 at https://dare2compete.com/competition/taste-the-future-south-east-asia-business-challenge-mondelez-international-267627. Each team should consist a team of three to four members.
