Youths Can Start Their Registration For ePemula RM150 Credit From 11 April

The Ministry of Finance published on its website that those who fall under the criteria to receive the ePemula credits can start registering from April 11 onward.

This special allowance is only available for youths aged 18 to 20 and full-time students at local institutions of higher learning, they can start their registering process starting tomorrow from the appointed ewallet service providers.

According to the statute, the RM150 e-cash credit will be distributed through four service providers, namely BigPay, GrabPay, ShopeePay and Touch ‘n Go Wallet.

It also added that apart from the RM150 given by the Government, youths could also expect additional perks from the ewallet service providers including cashback and other rewards. The ePemula registration will begin from April 1 until June 1, while the ePemula credit and matching benefits from the e-cash service providers can be spent until June 10, 2022.

This special incentive program will be officially launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on April 15, this cash handout was mooted under Budget 2022 to ease the burden of youths coming out of the pandemic. Although the amount can be construed as small, however, the RM150 for varsity-going students has been hailed as welcome pocket money that can be used to buy necessities for studies.

A total of RM300 million has been allocated under Budget 2022 for ePemula.
