SELGATE Healthcare and Magna Meditech Sealed Venture for Biomedical Equipment Management Services

SELGATE Healthcare has entered into a joint venture agreement with Magna Meditech for a long-term partnership to explore opportunities within the Hospital Support Services ecosystem namely Biomedical Equipment Management Services.

Selgate Healthcare is the healthcare arm of SELGATE Corporation.

The partnership for SELGATE is part of its exercise to build capacity and capability by way of financial support, operation management and business development as set out in the Memorandum of Understanding that both SELGATE & Magna Meditech entered into on 27 January 2022.

The said joint venture will entail the establishment of SELCARE MEDITECH, which will expand its offerings by setting up a Central Business Group for biomedical equipment planning, supply and maintenance services for all hospitals and healthcare facilities under SELGATE and other mutually agreed projects.

“As SELGATE envisions itself as one of the major players in Selangor’s healthcare industry, our mission is to build more healthcare facilities in Selangor, particularly in areas that are underserved in terms of access and affordability. We are attempting to fill a void in this market by providing affordable quality care,” Noor Hisham, the executive director of SELGATE Healthcare, expressed that during the joint venture and shareholders’ agreement signing ceremony.

“We believe that we could leverage on Magna Meditech’s knowledge and expertise to provide global standard quality healthcare services and consultations on the Support Services through this partnership. Apart from that, we are also working closely with each other in the planning and development of more diagnostic laboratories and dialysis centres in the future,” added Noor Hisham.

“This collaboration is a great addition to SELGATE Healthcare’s growth strategy and offers strong support for our business. Through this joint venture, it could strengthen our financial footing via diversification of our operations and thus revenue streams. We are confident that these operations will complement our current offerings specifically our hospital operations, which will be operating soon,” CEO of SELGATE Healthcare, Dr Muaz said.

“Magna Meditech will assist in terms of consultancy and planning, supply and installation, asset management and provision of Hospital Support Services as well as developing new healthcare value chain and its related services to cater to the
Malaysian market,” added Divesh, Group Managing Director of Magna Meditech.

in its official statement released, it is stated that “SELGATE and Magna Meditech would explore other areas of Hospital Support Services such as Facility Engineering Maintenance Services (FEMS), Cleaning Services (CLS), Clinical Waste Management Services (CWMS), and Linen & Laundry Services (LLS).”
