The manufacturer and solutions provider of low and medium voltage electrical power distribution equipment has made the announcement on the appointment of Datuk Adam Yee Hee Hoon as its deputy managing director, effective July 1, 2022.
“We are very delighted to welcome Datuk Adam Yee as our deputy managing director. We believe the appointment is timely and important for Powerwell as the Malaysian economy is recovering and electricity demand in the Southeast Asia region has been projected to triple by 2050, according to the ASEAN Centre for Energy,” Powerwell executive director Catherine Wong said.
Datuk Adam Yee is no stranger within the Malaysian engineering and technical services industry as he is the first Malaysian President and CEO of Siemens Malaysia.
Siemens Digital Industries won the ‘World’s Highest Turnover Increase in Co-Sales Countries in Training Business’ award and the ‘Courage and Innovation in Developing Industry 4.0 ecosystem in Malaysia’ award under Adam Yee’s leadership.
Yee joined Siemens Malaysia as a sales engineer in 2002 and was promoted to various senior positions during his 20-year tenure with Siemens Malaysia.
“I believe with his long-standing experience in the industry, Powerwell will be brought to the next level,” Wong added.
In 2021, Datuk Adam Yee was conferred the ‘Top 50 Impact Lifetime Achievement Awards’ in the category of Business
Excellence by KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific. The award was presented by T.Y.T. Tun Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, the Governor of Melaka.
