Honda Japan To Cut Production By 30% As Supply Chain Woes Plague

Honda Japan to cut output by 30% as the carmaker continues to face supply chain and logistics issues brought upon by global uncertainties.

It said two lines at the Suzuka in western Japan will reduce production by 10% this month and about 30% in August as opposed to earlier plans. Another plant in Tokyo will also be cutting its production output by 10%, this has been against optimistic production numbers announced at the beginning of the year.

A similar situation has been encountered by Toyota which adjusted its global output to 700,000 down 18% from its projected number for 2022.

CBU units shipped from Japan to overseas could be facing supply shortages including for countries like Malaysia which require vital electrical components for assembly.
