Pent Up Wedding Activities Helps Tomei Achieve Best Ever Financial Performance

Tomei Consolidated Berhad delivered its best-ever financial performance after reporting a year-on-year profit after tax and minority interests growth of over twofold to RM41.5 million on the back of a 36.1% growth in revenue to RM532.1 million for the six months ended 30 June 2022.

In comparison, for 2021 the Group posted a PATAMI of RM15.1 million on a revenue of RM390.8 million, the improved financial performance came on the back of higher sales of jewelry amidst the festive season coupled with increased wedding activities.

Going forward, Tomei said it maintains its growth momentum by launching new stores in areas where it’s not present to expand market reach. The group currently has 58 stores across Malaysia and we are targeting to reach at least 60 stores by end 2022.

For the second quarter ended 30 June 2022 its revenue increased 103.2% to RM297.9 million from RM146.6 million last year due to increasing business activities during the quarter under review as the Full Movement Control Order was imposed in the previous year’s corresponding quarter. The Q2FYE2022 PATAMI in turn surged to RM25.8 million from RM1.4 million previously.
