MRC Recognised At The BrandLaureate BestBrands Awards 2021-2022

The Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC) was awarded with The BrandLaureate BestBrands Awards 2021–2022 – Nation’s Pride in Promotion of Rubber & Rubber Products, recognised for its leadership and commitment in building MRC’s branding to be a greater and more successful brand alongside other prominent names under the same award category such as Bank Islam, UMW, KL Tower Malaysia, Bonia and Institut Jantung Negara, to name a few.

“To be acknowledged among other great brands by world’s only brands and branding foundation, The World Brands Foundation – this is definitely one of the highlights in all of MRC’s achievements since its inception in April 2000”, said Nor Hizwan Ahmad, CEO of MRC.

Themed “The Greatest Quest for Your Brand Is To Be Great. To Be Great Again!”, The BrandLaureate BestBrands Awards 2021–2022 acknowledges brands that have successfully built their brands to become market leaders with positive brand attributes and demonstrated strong leadership combined with resilience to overcome numerous challenges during the dark days of COVID-19 pandemic.

“Resilience through change, MRC is able to adapt to any circumstances and proceeds to undertake new initiatives focusing on human capital development, adoption of advanced technology and innovations, as well as helping to push the industry towards enhanced sustainability”, added Nor Hizwan.

MRC plays a vital role in supporting the transition to a contemporary, high-value-added sector by providing the guidance and assistance needed by their stakeholders especially during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

MRC has initiated safe online platforms called e-Global Sourcing Mission (e-GSM), an online business matching platform together with MaRViS, a virtual showcase platform to further facilitate business engagements for Malaysian rubber product companies. Global buyers will be able to identify and reach out to genuine Malaysian manufacturers for quality rubber products from Malaysia.

With the tagline “No One Knows Rubber Like Malaysia Does”, MRC kicked off a one-year PSA Campaign with Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) Berhad to increase awareness on the Made-in-Malaysia high quality rubber medical gloves that are supplied to more than 65% global demand during the COVID-19 outbreak, whilst increasing its branding presence to the public.

Through Global Branding Campaign, MRC aims to position Malaysia as the source for quality and sustainably produced rubber products as well as to emphasise the importance of choosing quality and sustainably produced rubber products. The advertisement of a wider range of Made-in-Malaysia rubber products such as the rubber medical gloves, rubber surgical gloves, food handling gloves, engineered rubber products (ERP) and rubber automotive components (RAC) has created awareness among the key target audiences and markets. MRC is also not only focusing on penetrating domestic markets but also markets with high potentials in countries like China, United States, Europe (United Kingdom, Germany, France), Japan, India, Egypt, UAE, Brazil, Chile as well as Peru.

“As an agency under the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC), MRC always focusses on holistic and impactful initiatives, in line with the mission and objectives of MPIC as well as the rubber industry, in positioning Malaysia as a competitive agricommodity leader with high value and sustainable agricultural products in the global market. We will continue our support to be at the forefront overseeing the industry’s transformation, and drive the industry towards continued success,” Nor Hizwan added.
