Former Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex today to face charges under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009.
Saravanan, 58, arrived at 8.26 am accompanied by his officers and is expected to face charges linked to the quota for the recruitment of foreign workers under Section 16 of the Act.
Section 16 covers offences involving soliciting, receiving, giving, promising or offering bribes.
Media members and Saravanan’s supporters had gathered at the court complex from as early as 7.45 am to follow developments in the case.
The court system showed that the case was scheduled to be mentioned before Sessions Court Judge Azura Alwi at 9 am today.
