MGRC And Ajlan Collaborate On Marketing Genetic Screening Products In MENA

Malaysian Genomics Resource Centre has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Ajlan & Bros Medical Company on the possibility of the latter being appointed distributor of genetic screening testskits.

Under the MOU, both parties agree to explore the possibility of collaboration for Ajlan to be the marketing and distribution representative of MGRC for genetic screening tests, mesenchymal stem cell, and exosome products as well as research & development opportunities for genome sequencing and analysis in the Middle East and North Africa region for areas covering agriculture, aquaculture, plantations, healthcare, and industrial biotechnology.

MGRC on its part will analyse the samples for genetic screening tests as well as provide Ajlan with genomic and bioinformatics expertise to bid for projects through Ajlan. The agreement will be valid for 2 years. Ajlan is a company organised and exists under the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This comes from the recent announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, on the group looking to invest RM34 billion in Malaysia into various sectors including healthcare.
