Mestron Secures New Contracts From MCMC And DNB For 5G Rollout

Mestron Holdings Bhd has secured another RM13 million worth of orders from the telecommunication segment following the
order of RM17.5 million that the Group secured from the national digital infrastructure plan, Jalinan Digital Negara back in June this year.

The orders secured are under Digital Nasional Berhad and Universal Service Provision projects, in which DNB is actively rolling out its 5G deployment while USP under MCMC is an initiative aimed at bridging the digital divide between developed and underserved areas.

Managing Director, Por Teong Eng commented, “The orders that we managed to secure are a testimony to the Group’s commitment and track record in the telco sector. With the Government’s commitment to pushing forward with its agenda to improve connectivity across the nation and it goes beyond the JENDELA initiatives, both the projects promise extensive growth opportunities for the Group.

Indeed, the Group has seen a sharp improvement in its order books and has a total order book of RM53 million year-to-date.
This is in line with the active rollout of 5G deployments that are gradually gaining momentum as Mestron generated its revenue mainly from the sales of its standard poles and specialty poles within
the telco segment.

infrastructure players. The Group’s track record in the industry is solid, and we are confident that
we will benefit from the increase in telco infrastructure projects rollout in the near-term,” Por said.
According to him, the projects of RM13 million worth of contracts are expected to be completed
within the next six months and it is expected to contribute positively to the Group’s revenue in the
near term.
