Starbucks Reward programme customers in Singapore have been advised to change their password immediately after the coffee chain discovered that its system had been breached and the personal information of its customers stolen.
In an email sent to its customers, Starbucks said it had discovered unauthorised access to user details like names, email addresses, gender date of birth, mobile number, and home address.
However, as the chain does not store credit card information, it assured customers no such details were leaked and are not affected.
In a statement, Starbucks Singapore advised “We would like to reinforce that Starbucks will not request any personal or membership information, nor will we send any URL links for such requests. Please remain vigilant and do not share details if you receive such notifications.”
