The global insurance broker and risk advisor, Marsh, and eAutoGen Capital announced the launch of AutoGen Plus, an extended warranty program designed to enhance the safety of driving used cars, with the aim of mitigating the financial impact caused by rising out-of-pocket repair expenses associated with aging vehicles.

It is created with FMCCAM and supported by the Ministry of Transport. This was launched at an event graced by Yang Berhormat Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs.

AutoGen Plus provides up to RM20,000 coverage (subject to car model) for engine and transmission repair for used cars that have been registered in Malaysia for a period of 10 years or less. To support road safety, the program also includes pre-purchase inspection and regular maintenance as per manufacturers’ recommendations. Car owners can also use the platform to connect with more than 200 authorized car inspection and repair workshops.

“Through AutoGen Plus, we want to deliver an excellent ecosystem for the used-car marketplace. By offering easy access to services through our innovative digital platform and preventive care through regular maintenance, we aim to enroll 400,000 used cars per year. Our goal is to boost confidence in the used car market and to foster the trust between sellers and buyers,” said Ms Karen Wong, CEO eAutoGen Capital

“Marsh has over two decades of experience in designing, building, and implementing successful automotive protection programs embedded with insurance solutions across the world. We are pleased to be a part of this program to provide affordable protection and timely after-sales service for used car owners, unlocking more growth opportunities for the auto industry in Malaysia,” said Ahmad Mahfuz Ismail, Consumer Affinity Leader, Marsh Malaysia and CEO of Marsh Takaful Brokers.
