Singapore F1 Sets New Record Breaks 300k Visitor Turnout

Singapore Formula One right race has set a new record with over 302,000 fans attending the three-day event, in one of the most exciting races on the sports calendar.

According to state authority, since holding the event Singapore F1 this year has broken the record in terms of highest fan turnout for the event in its 13-year history. The earlier record was in 2008 when the event was first held, where 300,000 fans attended the event.

The government renewed the contract to host Formula One for another 7 years the 2020 and 2021 races got canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Singapore has a unique race format among all the other races on the F1 calendar, not only the race is held on the streets overlooking the iconic city landscapes but it is also the only night race organised.

Organising the race has a tremendous ripple effect on the economy of the nation, Singapore has been able to regenerate revenue from hosting the race by organising 25 mice events with over 90,000 delegates. The arrival of fans from all over the world has also contributed to a high number of hotel bookings with average rates for homes going up beyond the $440a achieved in previous F1 races.

Perhaps its time the race is brought back to Sepang under new management with commercial driven attitude!
