Siti Khadijah Group Appoints Shafie Shamsuddin As New Chairman

Siti Khadijah Holding Sdn. Bhd. has appointed Shafie Shamsuddin as their new Chairman. Shafie possesses vast experience in the local and international corporate world.

Their CEO, Mohammad Munzir Aminuddin said, the appointment of the Chairman is aligned with the group’s new strategy to advance their position and spread their business empire as the leading Islamic product brand.

“Siti Khadijah is in need of an experienced leader to strengthen the group position. This is the perfect timing to appoint a new Chairman for Siti Khadijah Group as we put our new marketing strategies in place, as well as the launch of the new concept boutique at IOI City Mall. We also believe that his experience will elevate Siti Khadijah to greater heights in the future.”, enthused Munzir.

In the meantime, Shafie is grateful for the appointment which offers him chances to contribute his insights and experience to Siti Khadijah which has a huge potential to expand not only within the country, but also at the international level.

Shafie Shamsuddin’s Background

Shafie Shamsuddin, 52 years old, Singaporean, was the CEO and Managing Director of AEON Co. (M) Berhad & AEON Big Sdn Bhd during the recent pandemic covid 19 until 30th June 2022.

Shafie has steered one of the largest retailers and malls in Malaysia successfully through its transformation strategy with a win-win partnership within the consumer ecosystem.

Shafie is the Senior Non-Executive Independent Director and Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB), the principal marketing arm of PETRONAS listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia.

Shafie was also in the Board of Adviser for the Alumni Nanyang Business School in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore from 2014 till 2021.

Upon his graduation from NTU, Shafie joined Carrefour Singapore as a management trainee and became the first Asian CEO of Carrefour at the age of 35 years old. He has led Carrefour in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Shafie was also based in Paris as the Executive Director of Global Talent Management and Organizational Development in Carrefour Group. Shafie has extensive experiences in the consumer ecosystem with a passion in human capital development and over 25 years of immersion in the ASEAN region.
