TNB Business Unit Beat Giants Including Coca Cola To Win Gold At SSON Asia Impact Awards

Tenaga Nasional Berhad has won the highest recognition of a Gold Award for Best Shared Services Team at the prestigious Shared Services & Outsourcing Network (SSON) Asia Impact Awards through its subsidiary TNB Global Solutions.

The business unit beat 11 other giant companies such as Coca-Cola Japan Business Services, British American Tobacco, PepsiCo, Otis Worldwide, and Boston Scientific in the final shortlist. The award is the best achievement the unit has won since being part of the ceremony for four consecutive years. TNB Chief Global Business Solutions Officer, Ahmad Hushairi Ibrahim described the award as recognition for TNB as a whole which supports the services provided by the concerned Division and the commitment of its employees to develop efficient services in a short period of time.

“This award is proof of the dedication, effort, and spirit of cooperation of TNB citizens to obtain excellent results in supporting the aspiration of becoming the best supplier of sustainable energy solutions in Malaysia and Internationally,” he said after receiving the award.

TNB was also named among the Top 20 Most Admired Shared Services Organizations (SSOs) & Global Business Services (GBS) 2022 in the world. Others include Takeda, DHL, TESCO, Siemens, Qatar Airways, Kimberly-Clark, Celestica, Mars, Lexmark and Woolworths Group, multi-national and international. TNB Global Business Solutions also received an honorable mention for the Business Transformation Impact Award and Change Management Impact Award categories.

Last year, it received recognition in three categories at the SSON Asia Impact Awards, namely one silver and two honorable mentions. It also received two other honorable mentions in the previous two years.

The SSON Asia Impact Awards is an annual global industry award that honors business services and business leaders who leverage technology and best practices to improve operational efficiency. According to Ahmad Hushairi, the continued success in the SSON assessment further strengthens TNB’s commitment to the sustainable development agenda which parallels the importance of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG).
