FBM KLCI Slid 1.25% As Investors Waiting for Bank Negara’s Decision

Bursa Malaysia ended the Thursday morning trading session in a downbeat note, with the FBM KLCI ceded 18.08 points to 1,433.53 as compared to Wednesday’s closing of 1,451.61.

The cautious and jittery mood is anticipated as investors are waiting for Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) monetary policy committee’s key rate decision later today. It is widely anticipated that another 25-basis-point hike by the central banker this time.

Market breadth was negative with decliners trounced gainers 563 to 197, while 338 counters were unchanged.

Trading volume and value were registered at 1.44 billion units and RM790.2 million, respectively.
