Bursa Malaysia ended Tuesday’s morning session southward with the FBM KLCI shed 5.48 points to 1,436.64 as compared to Monday’s closing, 1,442.12.
Market participants may remain on cautious ahead of the midterm election and release of US inflation data due later this week.
AT 9:00 am, the main index opened five points firmer at 1,447.12. It oscillated in the range of 1,435.48 and 1,447.85 in the morning trading session.
On the broader market, decliners outnumbered gainers 391 to 273, while 386 counters were unchanged.
Trading volume and value were 1.49 billion units and RM719.10 million, respectively.
Top five gainers for the morning session were Hextar Technologies, United Plantation, PIE Industrial, Hong Leong Bank, F&N.
Whilst top five decliners were Nestle Malaysia, PPB group, Carlsberg Malaysia, PETRONAS Dagangan, Heineken Malaysia.
