Bursa Malaysia eased lower on Thursday morning with the benchmark FBM KLCI opened 3.88 points lower at 1,442.31 as compared to Wednesday’s closing of 1,446.19.

The main index is expected to whipsaw as investors are taking its cue from the indecisive US midterm election results.

On the broader market, decliners trumped gainers 236 to 66, while 175 counters were unchanged.

Trading volume was stood at 134.94 million units whilst value was RM42.33 million.

The performance of Wall Street was discouraging as the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 647 points, while the Nasdaq lost 263 points, as the US’ 10-year yield closed marginally lower at 4.1%. According to analysts, KLCI may rebound following the end-October selldown, and trend in the 1,440-1,455 range.
