Nylex And Consortium Sign LOI With CRRC Changhun For Proposed Johor LRT Project

A consortium consisting of Nylex, LBS Bina, Sinar Bina, and BTS Group had proposed an LRT project in Johor Bharu that links up a property development to the railway linking Johor and Singapore. The latest development is that they have now signed an Letter of Intent with a railway vechicle builder on further developing the project.

The project involves the construction, commissioning, installation, and testing of the Johor Mass Transit Line 1A Phase 1 measuring approximately 9.3km commencing from Bukit Chagar and ending at Taman Tasek, Johor Bahru, including the whole works of the line construction, such as the design, civil works, M&E systems supply, rolling stock supply, installation, commissioning and testing.

The intention of the Parties under the LOI includes – CRRC Changchun recommending the use of Straddle Monorail System, as it belives the system has outstanding features on the life-cycle cost, noise level, and occupied it agrees to undertake the project as a turnkey contractor.

With this Nylex and the consortium intend to preferentially choose CRRC Changchun as the turnkey contractor for the Project. Terms of the LOI are that it remain valid for a period of 12 months.
