MGB Explores Implementing Renewable Energy Solutions At KTIP With Invest Energy

MGB Berhad entered into a Framework Agreement with Invest Energy to collaborate with each other to explore the potential design, finance, operation, use, and/or maintenance of clean energy solutions such as green energy such as solar, biogas, biomass for the industrial park, Kerteh Terengganu Industrial Park.

Under the framework agreement, Invest Energy will provide centralised utility facilities together with a centralised
plant at a designated area to be determined by MGB, the area however is to be within 10 acres of the entire KTIP’s development land. This initiative is to improve KTIP’s energy efficiency and environmental footprint and for MGB to be supporting the carbon neutrality agenda of the Malaysian government.

The project will be undertaken by Invest Energy solely and with no financial implication to MGG, the company will also bear any costs required for the purpose of the development and implementation of the Proposed CUF Project and costs for any incremental works at the KTIP.

MGB adds the initiative is part of its commitment towards attaining its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals as well contributing towards the government’s aims to deliver on renewable energy (RE) capacity of 31% over the next three years, and 40% by 2035 in line with the Malaysia Renewable Energy Roadmap.
