Cyber Security Audit To Ensure Data Security; Fahmi

An audit of cyber security needs to be done to ensure the security of user data in this country, said Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

He said the Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) needs to identify ‘vulnerabilities’ or weaknesses in the existing ecosystem to avoid data theft from continuing.

Data is a national treasure and needs to be guaranteed safe,” he said at the New Year 2023 Mandate Ceremony of the Minister of Communications and Digital at KKD, here today (December 16).

Fahmi said KKD will also play an important role to assess and assist other agencies, departments and ministries in ensuring that cyber security will be a priority.

“My intention is that CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) under this ministry will always play a very important role.

“I don’t want any more incidents of data from any department being invaded, breached and stolen because whether or not it is related to the actions of scammers,” he said.
