FBM KLCI Traded in Flattish Manner

Bursa Malaysia ended the Tuesday morning trading session in a flattish manner with the main index FBM KLCI moved slightly lower by 1.12 points or -0.08% at 1,473.56 as compared to last Friday’s close of 1,474.68.

Whilst the Wall Street performance last Friday was encouraging, but the positive effects may only have a mild spill-over to the local bourse. The gains might be capped given the holidays season as well as fear over the impact of Covid-19 outbreaks in China.

At 9:00 am, the index opened almost flattish at 1,474.39.

For market breadth, it exhibits negative signs with decliners outnumbered gainers 433 to 340, while 348 counters were unchanged, and trading volume was thin. With turnover stood at 1.89 billion units and total value of RM923.02 million.

During the morning trading session, the index was traded in the range of 1,469.74 – 1,477.43

Top five active counters for the morning session were Borneo Oil, Metronic Global, Top Glove, Sunview, Advance Synergy.

Top five gainers were Kuala Lumpur Kepong, Kotra Industries, Fraser & Neave, PETRONAS Dagangan, United Plantation.

Whilst top five decliners were Nestle Malaysia, DKSH, AmBank, CIMB, Infoline Tec.
