NCT Group on Track to Attract Investors for Industrial Park Project

NCT was recently invited to present its NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) project to more than 350 delegates that includes representatives from the Hainan Government who joined virtually, at the recent 12th Malaysia-China Entrepreneurs Conference (MCEC 2022), themed “Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement” (RCEP)”.

NSIP’s unique positioning as ‘The First’ Managed Industrial Park (MIP), is a project endorsed by the Selangor government. It aims to boost investment opportunities from local and international investors.

Coupled with the support of the Hainan Government, the project is currently on track to attract investors from China to invest in NCT’s properties and developments under the NSIP project.

Located at the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (IDRISS), NSIP is led as a Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) inspired development that integrates smart innovations and sustainable solutions to cater to the current and future needs of entrepreneurs.

Upon completion, the project is targeted to create 50,000 job opportunities, addressing the shortage of jobs in the state while contributing to the local economy.

NCT is also working closely with the State government’s investment arm, Invest Selangor, Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) to strengthen the exposure of NSIP by tapping into their pool of investors and network.

The project, which has started with site clearing earlier this month, has received an overwhelming response, with 100% of Phase 1A fully booked.

“Sustainability is at the core of NSIP and the project truly embodies Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) values. It was designed with this very objective and we have seen great interest in the development,” Eddy Lim Swee Shien, General Manager and NSIP Project Lead said.

“Creating an efficient and effective development, NSIP is designed in line with the GreenRE rating criteria and is on track to being a solar-equipped, Managed Industrial Park (MIP), among other components. This will be further supported by various partners, such as Telekom Malaysia, Solarvest, and Samaiden, and other players, who are aligned with NCT’s vision to contribute towards reducing industrial carbon footprint.”

With 4IR at the forefront of NSIP, the project is set to be the benchmark for 4IR application in Malaysia.

NCT has been ramping up end-to-end digitalisation of its facilities at NSIP by partnering with prominent industry players to feature advanced infrastructure, state-of-the-art data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT) technology in order to boost productivity and maximise return of investment for investors.

“The project is consciously designed to also address common challenges faced by industrial parks, including floods and traffic congestion. There will be flood prevention features and smart traffic systems within and around the facility to better manage traffic flows” added Eddy.

NSIP’s positioning as the global hub for the semiconductor, electronic & electrical (E&E), and pharmaceutical industry is set to create a multiplier effect in Malaysia.
