Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is slated to appear on a live telecast at 12:30 pm today for a special announcement. No details have been mentioned about his speech.
Among issues that are being speculated are on the country’s Covid-19 situation and possible SOP enhancement due to the detection of new variants from China. Earlier the Health Minister said any decision on SOP will be discussed with the cabinet before any announcement can be made.
Europe and US are already taking preemptive measures to protect their borders from China arrivals where the country is facing an unprecedented surge in Covid-19 cases since the Zero-Policy order was lifted.
Apart from Covid-9 SOP, the PM could also be talking about the cost of living measures the new administration has adopted, and could be sharing some of the measures in place to curb the rise of daily staples like rice, cooking oil and overall food stuff.
