Mr DIY To Purchase 80 Units Of PAPA Foreign Worker Quarters For RM13.2 Million

Mr D.I.Y. has agreed to purchase 80 units of foreign workers’ quarter under the Centralised Labour Quarter/Pusat Asrama Pekerja Asing (“PAPA”) project @ Balakong for a total purchase consideration of RM13.2 million.

The PAPA Project @ Balakong is a purpose-built workers’ accommodation that caters to foreign and migrant workers from several industries across Multi-National Companies, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, and Human Resource agents. The project is expected to create a fully liveable Centralised Labour Quarter accommodation for the occupants equipped with all the modern necessities that ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for workers, while at the same time fulfilling the Jabatan Tenaga Kerja and Responsible Business Alliance requirements for foreign and migrant workers. It is strategically located in the industrial area of Balakong, Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

Mr DIY sees the acquisition to provide suitable accommodation for the foreign workers of its group of companies, which is aligned with the Government’s effort of introducing centralised labour quarters to improve the living conditions of the foreign workers.

The acquisition it said would also facilitate the company in managing its foreign workers and their accommodation systematically as part of the welfare of our internal stakeholders under the sustainability initiative of the Group.

PAPA Project @ Balakong is located near the key distribution centre of the company, which will save traveling time and reduce transportation costs for the foreign workers of the Group
